Scar Revision

Scarring of any kind, new or old, can be upsetting and difficult to come to terms with.  It can change how you see yourself physically and lower your body confidence levels.

Until recent years scarring has been a very difficult skin condition to treat non-surgically with only moderate improvements seen after undergoing a limited choice of very aggressive procedures.

Here at the 111 Harley Street Clinic we offer the latest advancements in scar improvement technology. This procedure is called FRAXEL laser.

How does Fraxel Laser work?

FRAXEL laser uses pinpoints of laser light to ‘remodel’ the scar tissue, sheering through the bulky scar formation.  Over approximately six months your scar will flatten, contract, reduce and fade out.  This results in a much less obvious skin issue and more body confident you!

How many treatments will I need?

Scars normally require 5 treatment sessions ideally spaced 2-4 weeks apart.  The intensity of your treatment will be decided upon during your consultation and assessment to ensure you receive a safe and very effective result.

Each laser session will take between 1½ - 2 hours.  You will have a strong numbing cream applied to the area prior to treatment to ease any mild discomfort.  Straight after treatment your scarring will look red and mildly swollen. The procedure itself is relatively simple and the swelling and redness should recede after approximately 4 days.
