Some women start to notice décolletage wrinkles appearing once they are pass 40. The chest area can start to look creased and saggy. The décolletage area can often betray a lady’s age, especially if she has taken very good care of her face. There can sometimes be a marked difference between the two areas and nothing can be more ageing than a wrinkled chest area.

The sun as always can be terribly damaging to this delicate area of skin. Often one of the first areas to catch the UV rays of the sun, it is easily overlooked when applying sun cream. The skin in this area is thinner than other areas that we tend to concentrate tanning on, such as arms and legs which means it requires extra care. We also often forget to moisturize this area so not only does it suffer from sun damage but the skin in this area can also be left dehydrated.

Botox® for Lines and Wrinkles

This is still one of the most effective and popular methods for treating wrinkles and it can be used to great effect in the décolletage area, particularly where there might be deep or stubborn wrinkles. The careful injection of Botulinum Toxin into the specific area by a skilled plastic surgeon or aesthetic nurse will see the lines and wrinkles soften. Results will be visible after three days and a top-up will be required every three months.

Fraxel is a laser treatment that can be used to treat many conditions including décolletage wrinkles. The laser gently boosts the collagen production in the skin and removes dead and poor skin cells. Your skin will look smoother, plumper and wrinkles will be almost invisible. Fraxel is still gentle enough to ensure that the patient does not need to take time off work. It is a more convenient and less invasive than many other treatments.

Mesotherapy can work wonders on the décolletage area where its anti-ageing benefits can really be seen. The injection uses a blend of vitamins, amino acids and medications that are especially targeted to the problem area. The treatment can also be used to replace the skin with the hyaluronic acid that will encourage new collagen production. This will result in the healthy and younger-looking skin. As the procedure is only minimally invasive the only possible side effect is bruising. This will normally disappear after a few days.
