    Your Mummy Makeover

A ‘Mummy Makeover’ refers to a collection of body procedures to lift, tone and tighten any areas affected post-partum.

This type of procedure can be a combination of surgical and non-surgical treatments, but is often referred to a Mummy Makeover when it includes an Abdominoplasty (a ‘Tummy Tuck’), Breast Augmentation and Liposuction.

At 111 Harley St., we want all our patients to feel their best at every stage in life, especially post-pregnancy when life can be busier than ever! Our tailored approach to all our procedures and treatments focuses on body confidence, and this is all done at the hands of our prestigious surgeon, Mr Reza Alamouti who specialises in body procedures at 111 Harley St. As an expert in his field, he is a master at Reconstructive Surgery, especially tummy tucks, liposuction and breast lifts, all of which can be effective solutions for those seeking to change their post-childbirth figure. 1. Each Mummy Makeover is Different

A ‘Mummy Makeover’ is inherently personalised to your unique needs – whether you want to target weakened muscles and loose skin that affects the many areas of the body after birth or another issue – we’ll create a package tailored to you.

A typical combination of surgical procedures will traditionally include an AbdominoplastyBreast Augmentation and Liposuction, however each patient is unique and your surgical plan will be created following a thorough consultation with your surgeon who will discuss your goals with you in detail.

There are many packages we can offer. For example, if you’re looking to significantly shape and enlarge sagging breasts with a Harley Street breast surgery, we may recommend Breast Augmentation with implants. However, we also offer a breast lift for those looking to maintain their original size and are seeking a more subtle lift and reposition.

    2. You Can Pick Which Procedures Work For You

Not all ‘Mummy Makeovers’ consist of all three of the procedures mentioned above. You may be looking to target just  one concern.

If you’re interested in Liposuction, there are two options we can offer. The first one is traditional Liposuction, which can be performed almost anywhere on the body. However, popular postpartum areas are the abdominal, the thighs and the hips.

Traditional liposuction is performed using laser energy which is employed to manually remove unwanted fat cells with heat. The other option to consider would be Vaser Liposuction.

Vaser liposuction is different from classic body or stomach liposuction as it involves the use of ultrasonic technology which is able to lastingly disturb the fat cells and cause them to break down. This procedure is more suitable to those who have already lost a lot of post-pregnancy weight but are struggling to the create their desired definition or lose stubborn fat.

    3. You Have to Wait a Minimum of Six Months Before Surgery

In today’s culture, there can be pressure for women to bounce or snap back to their pre-pregnancy body quickly after having a baby, and as a top plastic surgery clinic we want to ensure you receive the best quality results and surgical care. For this reason we ask our patients to wait a minimum of six months before undergoing any surgical operation – or however long it takes for you to feel ready after that time.

    4. You need to be at a steady weight beforehand

A Mummy Makeover  is not a “weight loss” procedure and while it is true that some fat will be removed during the procedure or procedures, you will need to have lost the bulk of your baby weight before you book a consultation.

We recommend being no more than 25 pounds over your goal weight before surgery to ensure the maximum lasting results.

    5. Consider your recovery

One thing you need to consider before undergoing a Mummy Makeover is that there will be a few things in the weeks following that you will need to avoid (typically around six weeks, depending on the speed of your healing).

One of them is that you cannot do any heavy lifting, or driving for at least two weeks – that’s right, it means no lugging toddlers, shopping bags or weights around. Of course, as a parent these things may be unavoidable, but one of our biggest advice we always give our patients is to minimise physical activity. (Gradually, you should be returning to a normal routine after two weeks, with the exception of heavy lifting, stretching and athletic endeavours.)

Yep, that means slowing down and being very easy with yourself.

    Mummy Makeover Quick Guide

Ideal for: Those who are looking to restore their pre-pregnancy figure.

Results First Seen: With surgical procedures, results are immediate and continue to improve after the surgery.

Lasts: Indefinitely (however Liposuction does not prevent post-surgery weight gain).

Aftercare: A compression garment may be required to wear afterwards.

Recovery: You can often return to normal activities completely around 6 weeks after. We do say that patients who are in physically undemanding jobs can return to work after two weeks.

If you have a physically demanding job, you retiring to work must be approved by the surgeon.
