Laser Pigmentation Removal

During the consultation process, one of our certified laser aestheticians will assess your suitability for the treatment and discuss your treatment goals and expectations.

Then, on the day of the treatment, you can expect your Aesthetician to cleanse the area before applying a cooling ECG gel. This ECG gel ensures the laser and IPL light is absorbed optimally. Once this gel has been applied, they will then cover your eyes to protect them against the AFT technology and begin the treatment.

They will then begin going over the skin in passes which can take a minimum of 7-10 minutes or a maximum of 40 – which is why Dye-VL is thought of as a ‘lunchtime facial’ and another reason to love it – because of it’s quick and  powerful abilities.

It’s suitable for most skin types but especially those that want to treat deep red or maroon marks on the skin and improve the appearance of more chronic conditions like rosacea, haemangioma (strawberry marks) and abnormally visible thread veins.

Although DYE-VL is largely thought of as laser pigmentation removal, it is suitable for anyone looking to rejuvenate their skin as you can expect an increased lift from elastic activity. This is because as the lights are absorbed, it also stimulates collagen production which will gradually, after your first treatment or over a course of them, will begin making your skin look more youthful and fresher.

Depending on your concern this may vary. If you have a mild concern you wish to treat, many patients will see visible improvements after one session. However, as a laser pigmentation removal treatment or for a more visible issue, we may recommend a short course consisting of three treatments.

What you can expect from any Dye-VL treatment is that you’ll see improvements after each session, and this will continue to get more impactful as you continue your treatments. During you consultation, our Non-Surgical Patient Co-Ordinator will advise and recommend how many will be necessary.

Dye-VL can take anywhere between 10-40 minutes, it always depends on the level and intensity of treatment you wish to have. As the Dye-VL machine is created by the leading aesthetic device company, Harmony, the level of Advanced Florescent Technology administered is completely tailorable.

As it is heralded a lunchtime treatment, there is no downtime! This can depend again on the intensity of the treatment, but usually there are no visible signs of treatment. Sometimes the treatment area may be a little tender or swell, but this should improve after 24 hours.

Our Aestheticans are trained in delivering comfortable treatments and as pain is often a subjective experience Dye-VL may feel different for everyone. Some patients have described it as feeling like a warm elastic band and experience a heating sensation. However, you can be assured that our team will help you feel as comfortable as possible using tools like massaging T-bar wands and stress balls to help you manage any discomfort.

After a session of Dye-VL you may see some redness, soreness or darkening of the treatment area post your rejuvenating or laser pigmentation removal treatment. This should improve after the treatment and our team is available to help you and reassure you if any skin changes occur.
