    Hyalase FAQs

The treatment is very quick and straightforward. Your injector will administer the Hyalase® through a series of injections. You may feel a slight sting as the needle enters the skin.

Hyalase® is suitable for patients who wish to reverse the results of their dermal filler. The filler will naturally break down over 6-12 months but for more a more instant resolve or adverse side effects, Hyalase® injections may be appropriate.

You may notice a subtle improvement in the treatment area, but the diffusion of the hyaluronic acid happens over several weeks.

Some patients experience a deflated appearance in the area the next day once your own hyaluronic acid starts to synthesise. This appearance will gradually get better.

The treatment takes approximately 10 minutes.

Following the treatment, minor side effects may occur. These reactions include redness, swelling, mild pain, bruising and tenderness at the injection site and usually resolve within a few days. In rare cases, you may have an allergic reaction. It’s also possible for some of your own hyaluronic to be reabsorbed, but the body will regenerate your levels naturally.

Hyalase® consists of a group of enzymes that work to degrade and reabsorb the molecular bonds that make up the hyaluronic acid.

There is no downtime with this treatment, but you may experience swelling or bruising which should subside within a couple of days.

The results are variable, so patients typically have a couple of filler-dissolving sessions. However, some may need to repeat the treatment every three weeks over several sessions until the filler completely dissolves.

Most patients do not experience pain but will feel a slight stinging sensation as the injector administers the fluid.
