    How to Treat Sweaty Hands?

Sometimes sweaty palms aren’t a sign of nervousness or illness; sometimes, it is simply excessive sweating. A condition doctors diagnose as palmar hyperhidrosis; sweaty palms are vital for certain individuals’ bodies to cool down. More often than not, there are treatments that can help improve the condition if you feel alarmed or insecure about it.

    What causes sweaty palms?

There is no straight reason individuals have sweaty palms; sometimes, it can be because of weight gain or menopause, or a health condition where sweaty palms are a side effect. Those who suffer from sweaty palms may also experience drastic changes in body temperatures during exercise, hands becoming cold and wet or sometimes swollen fingers.

    Treating Sweaty Palms

A range of home remedies can help treat sweaty palms, and many are recommended in-clinic treatments. In more severe cases, surgery can be recommended to remove or adjust the sweat glands, making it impossible to sweat, however the most common treatment is Botox.

Botox, or botulinum toxin, blocks the receptors in the palms that tell the sweat glands, or eccrine glands, to produce sweat. After approximately 6-8 months, Botox can drastically improve the amount your hand’s sweat.
