Pectoral implants offer a surgical solution for those who are concerned with the shape, size or definition of the chest and pec area. Some men may find that they’re struggling to attain their muscular ideals with exercise and diet alone or may suffer from a congenital deformity. Pectoral implants can enhance the chest area by creating a more symmetrical, defined and muscular appearance – we may combine the procedure with liposuction to optimise results.

    Pectoral Implants FAQs

One of the biggest benefits of Pec Implants is that it offers immediate results, see for yourself this patient who is only ten days post-op.

The surgical process begins with a thorough consultation in which we will discuss your medical history, the procedure and method itself, and the results you’re hoping to achieve.

The procedure requires general anaesthesia. The method of inserting and positioning the implant will depend on your preferences, anatomy and your surgeon’s recommendation.

Usually, the incision is under the armpits. The surgeon will insert saline implants underneath the muscle and position them to look as natural as possible for optimal cosmetic effect.

The shape and size of the implants may vary on each side to enhance proportions and make the appearance of the chest more symmetrical.

You may consider opting for male pectoral implants if you’re unhappy with the appearance of your chest. Such reasons may include asymmetry, lack of definition or size of muscles, or congenital disabilities such as Poland’s Syndrome which causes the chest to be concave due to an absence of muscle, usually occurring on one side.

The results of your pectoral implants will be visible immediately.

The recovery rate varies but is usually around six weeks. During this time, you should avoid lifting heavy objects or exercising.

Most patients take around two weeks off work to recover from the operation.

We may require you to wear a supportive garment or bandage for around a week after your surgery.

The procedure takes approximately 1-2 hours, depending on the extent of the surgery.

You may experience bruising, swelling and discomfort which should subside within three weeks, though the rate of recovery varies from patient to patient.

    Other possible complications might include:

    • Asymmetry
    • Moving or displacement of implants
    • Capsular contracture
    • Infection
    • Bleeding

Scarring will be minimal, and the incision is concealed within the armpit so will be virtually undetectable. We’ll remove the stitches within two weeks after surgery.

Pectoral implants come in many shapes and sizes, and we customise them to suit the patient’s desires. The material we use for the implants isn’t prone to leaking or tearing. They’re slightly firmer than breast implants to replicate muscle rather than tissue and fat.
