When we think of Jaw Sculpting treatments, Dermal Fillers are often first thing to come to mind, but this is not the only option available. Fillers for the jaw are used to create more definition and the appearance or a more angular lower face, however, this was before our newest treatment: Thermage JawSculpt.

How does Thermage JawSculpt work?

The concept behind Thermage JawScupt is a two-pronged one. The first prong is working to improve the skin’s structure on a dermal level (this is where Thermage FLX comes in), and the second, works to give you the more immediate and visible results you’d expect from most skin treatments. This will be achieved through the Botox Masseter Injections. By combining two of our most popular Non-Surgical Treatments and Injectables together to bring our patient Thermage JawSculpt, creating definition to the lower face with the sought-after ‘snatched jaw’.

How Does Thermage FLX work?

At the core of Thermage is radiofrequency and when emitted on the skin, these radio waves are converted to thermal energy which are able to reach into the deepest dermal layers. By first heating the superficial layer of skin, before penetrating deep into the dermis, Thermage causes cellular reactions that stimulate collagen and elastic activity as well as an immediate contraction of the skin tissues. The biggest benefit from this interaction is that it delivers a tightening and lifting effect perfect for contouring the jawline. Another benefit of Thermage is that it has a vibrating handpiece which sends distracting messages to the brain to help minimise any discomfort experienced.

However, the biggest benefit of Thermage is that this treatment helps to rebuild the skin’s structure. By strengthening the skin’s foundation, the effect of the Masseter Botox in Thermage JawSculpt will be dramatically enhanced as well as any other injectable or skin treatment you have in the future.

How does Masseter Botox (Jaw Botox) work?

Anti-Wrinkle Injections have many uses and face sculpting and contouring is one of them. When Botox is injected into the masseter muscles – which are on either side of the face near the cheekbones and are the muscles responsible for chewing – it can help change the shape of your face. Jaw Botox can usually last around 3-6 months.

What Does The Treatment Involve?

The process begins with a consultation where we will discuss your reason for treatment and determine whether you are a suitable candidate.

During treatment, the Thermage® FLX, your Aesthetician will trace a grid on to the skin and target these vectors. The treatment can take around one hour.

For the Botox section of the treatment, your Harley Street Injectable specialist will make a series of injections to administer the substance. It can ussually take around 1 week to see the result.

Who Is The Treatment Suitable For?

Thermage JawSculpt is suitable for those who want to:

Tighten their jawline
Treat the appearance of jowls
Slim or contour their midface
Improve the appearance of thin skin

When Can Results Be Seen?

It can take up to 2 weeks to see the full effect of Botox depending on the size of the area treated and the condition.

For Thermage, you may see some immediate lifting, but the results of this treatment are usually progressive, with optimal improvement at around the six-month mark and improved when combined with other treatments and skincare. As the treatment works by stimulating collagen levels, the results continue to improve over time.

How Long Will The Results Last?

The permanency varies from patient to patient, but usually, Botox starts to wear off after around 12 weeks. Its longevity also depends on the strength of the muscle.

With Thermage, we recommend just a single session, but we advise yearly treatments to maintain results.

Is There Any Downtime?

No, there is no downtime, but you may experience slight bruising at the injection site.

How Many Treatments Are Required?

Depending on the area, you can usually achieve the desired aesthetic outcome within one treatment, but this varies from patient-to-patient.

How Often Should I Have This Treatment?

You may desire to repeat the treatment when you see your cosmetic concerns returning.

As mentioned earlier we advise top-up treatments for Jaw Botox (between 4-6 months) and one annual Thermage treatment.

How Long Does The Treatment Take?

Around one hour and a half.

Is The Treatment Painful?

Thermage can be uncomfortable, however, thanks to new advancements called the Thermage Comfort Pulse Technology (CPT), this treatment is much more enjoyable for the patient.
