VASER Liposuction

The first step in your VASER Liposuction treatment journey involves having a consultation – usually with our body specialist, Mr Reza Alamouti, as he mainly performs all the Body Procedures at 111 Harley St., so he’ll be your Surgeon and one of your first points of contact.

Once you and Mr Reza have undergone your initial consultation, which will involve examining the area and an opportunity for you to outline your concerns and expectations from the procedure, you’ll both then arrange a surgery date.

Our Surgical Team will then provide you with our surgery pack guide which will hopefully give you all the information you require, and if not, someone from our team will be able to answer any queries or questions you may have.

On the day of the surgery, you will be greeted by your surgeon and required to fill out a few forms beforehand then you’ll be escorted somewhere private to get changed into your surgical gown. Then you’ll go into the theatre and be placed under general anaesthesia for the entire procedure. Then, your surgeon will use a saline solution of tumescent fluid (mixed with anaesthesia) and administer it into the targeted area.

During the procedure, you can expect the ultrasound cannula to be carefully inserted into the skin through small, but concise, incision. The first step is washing the inside of the body with an antibacterial and local anaesthesia wash and then the Liposuction cannula (a medical instrument that looks like a probe) will begin to vibrate, breaking apart the fatty tissue and essentially melting the fat.

Once the fat begins to melt, suction will turned on to remove it. Once the amount of fat you wish to loose has been achieved, Mr Reza will close the incision and put on your compression garment which will need to be worn for around 6 weeks.

VASER Liposuction london is not always the right choice for overweight patients as the biggest VASER liposuction results are seen when the patient is as close to their ideal body weight – this is because it is a procedure that helps to sculpt, contour and remove any stomach or body fat that has been resistant to diet and exercise.

The ideal candidate would have good skin elasticity and no visible signs of loose skin and be able to ‘pinch an inch’ of fat. VASER Liposuction is not suitable for those who have a great deal of loose skin. Instead, they may wish to consider a body lift or tummy tuck – or our non-surgical skin tightening treatments.

However, as VASER is very advanced, the ranging suitability for candidates is highly flexible – and will be formally confirmed during your consultation.

You will be able to see significant results 3-6 months after the procedure once the swelling, bruising and excess fluid has subsided.

One advantage of surgical procedures is that the results are more immediate than the effects of the non-surgical treatments we offer at 111 Harley St., and while the results can last indefinitely, liposuction does not stop you from re-gaining weight. So, the lastingness of the treatment would depend on your ability to stay at a ranging weight and your lifestyle factors such as diet and exercise.

Vaser lipo offers faster recovery rates than traditional liposuction and additionally means the post-treatment effects are more discrete – meaning less visible liposuction scars. This is because of the ultrasonic technologies it harnesses (which are known to increase accuracy and precision without increasing its invasiveness.

Most patients find that they will be back on their feet just a few days after their procedure and can resume light exercise. We do recommend a period of rest and relaxation after the procedure with a minimum of 12 hours downtime. After this, there should be a 2-3 week period of general recovery where no extensive activity should be taken. Light duties can continue but we always recommend being extra-gentle with yourself in the days and weeks after your operation.

This does vary from patient-to-patient and often comes down to the extent of fat to be removed, but generally the operating time varies from 60-90 minutes. Your Surgeon will be able to give you a more approximate time on the day.

The fat removed will be permanently eradicated; however, weight gain is still possible. That’s why we advise our patients to be as close to their ideal weight as possible before having the operation. Studies have found that with any sculpting techniques or Vaser lipo, the fat will not return and instead, will distribute to other areas of the body.

Small incisions (a few millimetres) may be present in discreet locations on the treatment area(s). However, the type of scarring will often be minimal when having VASER, the only factors that may inhibit the permeance of your scars will be your skin and body type as this can impact visibility and healing.

Whatever your concern over scarring, be assured that our Surgeons are experts and always perform surgeries with your discretion and concerns in mind.
