What is the ADVATx laser treatment?

ADVATx is a type of non-ablative resurfacing treatment to mainly target acne, rosacea, texture and tone irregularities, and the signs of ageing. It’s also recommended every six months to maintain excellent dermal hygiene – meaning it’s the perfect treatment to ensure your skin is in its best condition and functioning at its optimal level. However, it is not limited to treating the following concerns:

    ✓ Melasma

    ✓ Pigmentation

    ✓ Dyschromia

    ✓ Sun Damage

    ✓ Oil Production

    ✓ Rejuvenation

    ✓ Enlarged Pores

    ✓ Cherry angiomas

✓ Haemangioma: also known as ‘strawberry marks’

    ✓Fine lines and wrinkles

    ✓ Dry skin

It’s the latest laser technology to restore the dermis and epidermis to its former, highly functioning, glowy glory.

    What makes ADVATx unique?

Using a scanner hand piece, combined with ADVATx’s unique PulSync (their patented pulse synchronization). Each treatment minimises discomfort and other unwanted side effects associated with laser treatments – like burns etc. – and maximises treatment efficiency.

So, what does this mean? PulSync technology consists of two lasers, one is emitting 1064 nanometre (nm) and the other is an 1319nm, and both lasers share a Q-Switch to generate a pulsed train of light. These pulsed trains are synchronized and simultaneously sent through a non-linear crystal, which combines the wavelength of the respective 1064 and 1319 photons to generate 589nm, of yellow light. This can then be tailored to your individual needs.

After only two treatments, the redness and blemishes of this patient’s skin have been dramatically reduced.

This patented technology, combined with the scanner handpiece means that the lasers are not only synchronised, but the scanner patterns themselves can be tailored by our Aestheticians according to the area being treated.

    Why You Should Choose ADVATx

We think it’s one of the best lasers for the face and are calling our all-in-one treatments for the face, hands and more. It’s so cutting edge in its technology that it has been additionally heralded in NewBeauty has the ‘safest and most effective’ laser for dark skin tones as it has been approved for use on all Fitzpatrick scale skin types.

    FAQs

The biggest benefit of this treatment is that there is no downtime. Unlike regular lasers, with visible side effects like track marks or redness. The only side effect AQVATx gives you is a glow (if you can even call this a side effect, it’s more of an added bonus).

This is often decided during the consultation with our Head of Non-Surgical Department, Kerstie, as she will be able to assess the concern(s) you wish to improve and recommend the best course of action to tackle it.

ADVATx is known for its immediate improvements and ‘on-the-table’ results which is rare with laser treatments as often a waiting time is required to see the effects. This is why ADVATx is going to change the laser device game as it is suitable for all skin types, can treat lots of skin concerns, has zero downtime, zero pain and immediate improvements after the first treatment.

Yes! ADVATx has many FDA and CE cleared indications (meaning they have been checked and meet the EU safety requirements and regulations, and work to treat specified skin concerns).

Treating rosacea is one of them! This is because the combined pure yellow and infrared laser energy acts like a light therapy for rosacea and yellow light especially decreases redness by decreasing the size of the blood vessels.

In a clinical study, 85% of patients experienced significant reduction in active acne. ADVAtx has additionally cleared indications for acne scarring, so yes it will! Similar to how the yellow light works for redness, the combination of yellow and infrared laser works for blemished skin as it targets bacteria, redness and inflammation of active acne across both epidermal and dermal levels, and then targets any old acne scars from previous breakouts.

So, first fold, it kills the bacteria and shrinks the pores – helping normalise the sebaceous glands activity and then two-fold, once this regulation has been kickstarted, the appearance of future breakouts will be less severe due to less sebum produced.

It is unlikely that laser treatments aggravate the skin to a cancerous level… As our laser and light treatments do not emit UV rays, which are the main cause of skin cancer, we can assure you that no skin cancer causing activity will occur during an ADVATx treatment.

As we mentioned earlier, the zero-pain, zero-downtime qualities of this treatment make it an even more desirable option for not only general rejuvenation but as an effective treatment course to target a multitude of advanced skin concerns.

We advise our patients to not heavily exercise or perspire for 24 hours.

For two days we recommend avoiding any active ingredients, AHAs, BHAs and Retinols, other products should be fine (just double check with your practitioner). It is also recommended to keep the skin well hydrated and not to touch the skin or pick at it afterwards. If the skin looks like it is flaking or crusting, use Vaseline or petroleum jelly on the area.

You can go out in the sunlight, but we recommend wearing a high SPF50 until for a minimum of two weeks afterwards.

If redness or sensitivity occurs, wash your face and apply a cool compress or ice pack. If sensitivity continues for more than 12 hours, contact your Aesthetician.
