    Treating A Sun-Damaged Chest

While most anti-ageing creams and treatments focus on the hands and face, they often neglect the neck, which, when it comes to sun damage, is an area that is frequently over-exposed and can become damaged. The chest area can produce sun spots, premature wrinkles, crepiness and redness due to the thinness of the skin, flow of blood capillaries and deterioration of the skin’s structure.

Why does sun damage occur on the chest?

Any part of the body can become sunburnt but most people simply forget to apply sun protection to the chest area, and as a result, causing sun damage. Commonly the face, neck, ears and hands are the most visible to the eye and therefore protected but this often isn’t the case for the chest – thereby increasing your chances of over exposure conditions and in worse cases cancer.

    At-home Treatments

The first place to start would be applying SPF on a regular basis and as part of your routine even if you aren’t in the sun. If your chest has been exposed, then implementing a soothing and healing routine will help to nourish the area, the 111SKIN Reparative range is exemplary for healing traumatized skin and on clean skin, applying the Antioxidant Energising Essence and Y Theorem Day Cream with SPF 50 will help to stimulate collagen and elastin production whilst repairing the skin’s cells on the surface.

    In-clinic Treatments

Another extremely recommended routine involves enhancing the repair with in-clinic treatments. These can range between iPixel, ClearLift, Dye-VL and Cynosure laser.

    iPixel for C-Section Treatment

    iPixel

A fractional ablative laser treatment that works to significantly resurface sun damaged skin. It significantly improves the appearance of symptoms that occur after the area is over exposed such as wrinkles, fine lines, age spots and sunspots whilst stimulating the vital collagen renewal.

    ClearLift

Targeting the route of the sun damage at the mid to upper dermis, ClearLift helps to rebuild the depleting collagen levels whilst resurfacing the skin for a more even skin tone. Highly recommended for those who have been over-exposured and have symptoms that display wrinkles and pigmentation.

    Dye-VL

Advanced AFT technology that is dedicated to targeting vascular and pigmented lesions, highly absorbing the melanin making it rather effective in removing spots and pigmentation. With cooling technology, the laser treatment provides excellent clinical results.

    Laser Facial

    Cynosure Laser

Renowned for targeting and treating brown spots and sun damage, Cynosure delivers laser technology to the skin to help stimulate the body’s natural healing process which in turn reduces the symptoms.
