    Treatment Guide for Rosacae

    How to Treat Rosacea

Many of us experience redness from time to time, but if you experience consistent flushing to the face, neck and even back, it could be a sign of Rosacea. Affecting over 415 million people worldwide, Rosacea is a rather common skin condition, and with a combination of topical, lifestyle and laser treatments, managing Rosacea can be significantly reduced.

    What is Rosacea?

Mostly affecting the center of the face, Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that is visible on the nose, cheeks, forehead and chin (with the possibility of it spreading to the chest and back). In some cases it can be tender with the characteristics of flushing or blushing. To note, there are in fact four different types of rosacea – erythematotelangiectatic (vascular), papulopustular (inflammatory), phymatous, and ocular.

Erythematotelangiectatic (vascular): This form of rosacea may be due to the visibly dilated capillaries or blood vessels.

Papulopustular (inflammatory): For those that experience acne-like breakouts may also experience an inflamed-type of rosacea.

Phymatous: With this type of rosacea, the skin will typically thicken and develop granulomas texture.

Ocular: Just affects your eyes and eyelids, causing them to often be red and irritated.

    Causes & Symptoms of Rosacea

The exact causes of Rosacea are still unknown but doctors do note that an interplay of factors can contribute to it such as genetics, vascular, immunologic and environmental factors. Similarly symptoms can be different to every individual, however if the skin is hypersensitive, irritated and prone to redness regularly, this is a sign to seek an expert’s help.
