Natural Enhancement and Facial Rejuvenation
As amazing as a life rich with laughter, smiles and happy memories with family and friends is, the expression lines can start to show in your face. The lower part of the face is likely to be one of the first areas to show signs of ageing. Some see these lines as reminders of happy memories, but others see these lines as a reminder of ageing. Here at 111 Harley St. we offer a less invasive solution to the traditional facelift; with the mini facelift, there’s no need to worry about visible scarring* or fears of an unnatural appearance. This procedure is perfect for those who want to stop early ageing in its tracks.
The mini facelift, also known as the s-lift, is ideal for patients in their thirties, forties or early fifties who are looking for a treatment to provide a rejuvenated and more youthful complexion. The main difference between this procedure and a full face lift is the mini facelift leaves a significantly smaller scar line. The scarring in the crease behind the ear and the hairline behind the ear is almost completely eliminated.
*Please note that this is dependent on a case by case basis. Scarring is reduced with mini facelift.
A mini facelift is performed under general anaesthetic and takes approximately three hours. An overnight stay is hospital is usually required.
The incisions and the scars for a mini-facelift begin in the temporal hair area and extend downward, in front of the ear and ear lobe. Sometimes the incision can extend behind the earlobe or slightly behind the ear. The choice of placing the scar in the crease just in front of the ear or within the ear itself is determined by individual patient anatomy. An alternative method can be used to position the incision along the temporal hairline, rather than within the temporal hair.
Recovery time varies from patient to patient, but you should be able to resume day to day activities in approximately a day or two. You should plan to take minimise activity for at least a week post-surgery. At the beginning you may experience changes in sensation (tingling and/or tightness) in your face and your features may feel a little swollen. Some bruising may persist for two to three weeks, but by the third week you should notice improvement.
The average patient returns to work within ten to fourteen days. You should refrain from strenuous activity, including sex and heavy housework for at least two weeks. Above all it is important to get plenty of rest and allow your body to utilise its natural healing process.
A facelift will not delay the ageing process completely and your face will continue to age with time. However the effects of even one facelift are long lasting. You will find a facelift can reduce loose skin and give your face a softer, refreshed, younger look.*
