iPixel is a fractional ablative laser treatment that can resurface the skin and can improve the appearance of texture and other pigment-related concerns. It’s highly effective for treating wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, large pores and rough skin texture by stimulating collagen renewal for a refreshed and radiant complexion. This is also a popular option among our surgical patients who are looking for a way to reduce Facelift scars and enhance the skin’s quality.

    iPixel FAQs

One of the great things about iPixel is its versatility as a laser treatment, and the immense rejuvenating results it can produce – especially in reducing scars from after a Facial Surgery. However, even as a stand-alone treatment, the biggest benefits of this treatment are:

✓ Triggers collagen synthesis which can help to soften deep and finer wrinkles

✓ Improves pigmentation, unwanted freckles and age spots

✓ Reduces blemishes, acne and acne scars too

✓ Improves skin tone and quality – ‘quality’ meaning the skin’s smoothness and elasticity

Before undergoing any laser treatment, you’ll first have a consultation which will determine your suitability for the treatment and whether this is the right treatment to help you achieve your goals.

Once your suitability has been confirmed, you’ll then be matched with one of our Aestheticians who ask you about your goals and set the device to the required depth to ensure it gives you the best results. They will first cleanse your skin before beginning the treatment.

iPixel gets it names from the hand-piece it uses: as you can see the tip is square shaped, so it treats a targeted area of skin using precise beams, moving in grid-like passes.

They will work over your skin in passes over your skin, delivering bursts of energy.

After the iPixel treatment, you may notice square formations with tiny pinprick dots on the skin. The nurse will apply a topical serum to minimise these marks.

The treatment is not suitable for all skin types, including individuals with very dark skin tones. We will determine your suitability during your consultation.

Patients will see an improvement in the collagen growth of the skin for at least three months following the sessions.

The fractional ablative laser treatment delivers precise beams of energy in a pixel-size formation to target specific cells. The surrounding cells remain intact, which speeds up healing. The heat from the energy destroys the injured or damaged cells and stimulates collagen production to remodel and fill in the area with new healthy cells.

The condition and texture of your skin will continue to improve with each treatment you have, and the results are long-lasting. We recommend regular treatments to maintain results in addition to following a prescriptive skincare regime and treatment programme as advised by your practitioner.

Unlike other harsh peels or other traditional ablative lasers, the iPixel treatment has virtually no side effects or downtime.

Scabbing will occur following the treatment. After around three days post-treatment, you may notice track marks or little square scabs on the skin. It’s important not to pick these scabs off, but to let them fall off naturally.

Most patients require 4-8 sessions. One session every 4-6 weeks depending on the severity of the skin concern.

We can apply a topical numbing cream before the treatment to minimise discomfort. Though pain is subjective, most patients do not experience pain. Some describe the treatment itself as a pricking sensation. A more vigorous treatment may be more uncomfortable.

Once the treatment is complete, the skin will feel very hot, and some compare to the feeling of sunburn.

Numbing cream is applied for 20 minutes, followed by the treatment, which takes approximately 30 minutes.

    Why 111 Harley St.?

    • The treatment has stacking ability to allow the laser to penetrate at a deeper level while reducing downtime and swelling.
    • The iPixel laser has a markedly lower risk of creating post-trauma pigmentation, comparatively to ablative lasers like CO2.
    • iPixel uses pixel patterns to allow for higher ablation and enhance results.
    • The treatment mechanism accelerates the speed of healing and doesn’t remove the entire top layer of the skin (unlike traditional ablative laser systems).
    • The nurse can adapt the pulse energy, tailoring the treatment to your needs depending on the concern.

I have finished my second course of iPixel and this is something I will continue for the rest of my life, i’s addictive as the results are so good. I have enjoyed all of my treatments with Rachael and how she works with my skin. I trust this clinic.

I had iPixel at 111 Harley St. years ago and I have just started back at the clinic. I was happy to have the same practitioner as last time and it was lovely that she remembered me from 2 years ago. The treatment is fast and very little recovery time!

Working with Rachael has been such a pleasure. We did a full treatment together of the Ipixel laser (4 treatments over a month period). I got to say I could not recommend this treatment and 111 Harley street anymore. I will one hundred percent be back each year for this treatment. I am feeling so confident with my skin and I am getting a bunch of compliments from people who have no idea I have been getting the treatment. Thank you so much Rachael and can’t want to come back. My clear skin sessions with Rachel have been amazing. She’s always open to consult me on what’s best for my skin. The sessions are very relaxing and therapeutic and I’m looking forward my ipixel treatment with her. I’ve already recommended her to my mother!
