Liposuction Before and After Photos

First, what is Liposuction and how does Liposuction work?

Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure that removes fat cells from unwanted areas that have been deposited on the body. It’s one of our extremely popular body procedures and offers a more permanent solution for people who have struggled to lose unwanted fat through diet and exercise alone.

How does Liposuction work?

We have two types of Liposuction at 111 Harley St.: Liposuction and VASER Liposuction. Traditional Liposuction works by making a small incision in your desired treatment area and using a wand-like probe to break apart the fat cells. This wand is called a Liposuction cannula that has vacuum-suction-action on one end and a long tube on the other to effectively evacuate the fat cells which can become liquid-like during the process.

Some of our most popular areas and types of Liposuction are:

Stomach Liposuction

Arm Liposuction

Thigh Liposuction

Chin Liposuction (one way to effectively get rid of a double chin – known as Submental Liposuction)

Back Liposuction (ideal for bra and back rolls)

Liposuction (both our traditional Liposuction and our Ultrasonic Liposuction called VASER) are versatile when it comes to areas they can be performed on. This is one of the biggest advantages of Liposuction: that it can remove stubborn fat on most areas where a prominent amount resides.

How much is Liposuction?

Liposuction often varies from clinic to clinic. Overall, in the UK, Liposuction can start from about £2,000 to £6,000, depending on where the procedure is performed and the body areas being treated. At 111 Harley St., our prices start from £4,000 – we have extensive experience with Liposuction and consider the procedure to be a very skilled operation that requires a meticulous eye for detail.

Can it help with other medical conditions?

Liposuction is normally done for cosmetic purposes, but it is sometimes used to treat certain health conditions, these include Lymphedema (where excess fluid collects in tissues causing swelling), Gynecomastia (enlargement or swelling of male breast tissue), Lipodystrophy syndrome (abnormal accumulation of fat tissue) and Lipomas (soft, fatty lumps that grow under your skin).

Who is Liposuction good for?

The best candidates for Liposuction are those who are almost at their ideal weight or within a small range of their ideal weight (around 30 pounds over).

The best candidates are also those who are of sound mental health and have accurate expectations of the procedure.

Will I be awake during the procedure?

Depending on how many areas are being treated, the procedure will either be done under local anaesthesia or general anaesthesia.

If performed under local, you will be able to go home straight away – be sure to have someone drive you, as it is likely you will be drowsy from the anaesthetic. For those targeting multiple areas and who will be under general anaesthetic, you may be required to stay overnight in the hospital.

How much weight can you lose after Liposuction?

Liposuction should not be used as a weight-loss solution – whilst some patients will lose a few pounds from the surgery (5-10 pounds), the goal is to improve your overall physical physique. As fat is removed from specific areas, the procedure will significantly improve the way you look and feel.

Will Liposuction get rid of cellulite?

Liposuction may be able to improve the appearance of cellulite for some patients. However, it is not often recommended as a solution to cellulite because once the fat has been removed after a Liposuction operation. The dimpling of cellulite can become more obvious.

To reduce the appearance of cellulite, we recommend taking a non-surgical route with treatments such as Endermologie (which we advise having before and after your Liposuction surgery), Accent Prime or Mesotherapy.

What’s Liposuction recovery like?

Recovery varies from patient to patient! With all Liposuction methods, the minimal recovery time will be several days to two weeks and you should expect some bruising, swelling, and soreness during this time. These side effects might persist up for up to 6 weeks if the operation was extensive.

Are Liposuction results permanent?

Liposuction is a permanent procedure, once the fat cells are removed from the body they will not grow back. However, the surrounding fat cells may increase in size if you don’t maintain a healthy diet and exercise.

Does Liposuction help loose skin?

Many patients worry about skin sagging post-procedure which can arise if there was a significant amount of fat removed.

In these cases, a combination of treatments can help, or additionally, Mr Reza, our specialist body surgeon, may recommend having a Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) alongside your Liposuction surgery.

There are also non-surgical options such as Accent Prime, Thermage FLX, and LPG Endermologie, and are all treatments that can aid in tightening the skin post-procedure. However, if the skin is overstretched, this can be removed surgically.
