What is ultrasound?

Many people are familiar with ultrasound scans conducted during pregnancy and when diagnosing illnesses. In this context, ultrasound is used to create sonogram pictures of inside of the body. However, in a cosmetic context, it’s powers can be harnessed during surgery to increase the accuracy and precision of rhinoplasty, liposuction, and jaw reshaping procedures.

How does it work?

During both Jaw Reshaping and Rhinoplasties, Dr Yannis will use a specialised, ultra-fine instrument called a Piezo that emits ultrasonic waves directly to the bone to sculpt the desired treatment area.

A Piezo is unique because it can still deliver powerful energy to the bone while ensuring that the blood supply and nerves remain intact and un-compromised. Ultrasound is also used during VASER liposuction. VASER liposuction is one of our advanced body sculpting treatments that can reduce abdominal fat, tighten and contour your abs – known as ‘Ab Etching’. Often this is performed by Mr Reza, who specialises in all our Body Surgeries.

What is an ultrasonic rhinoplasty?

At 111 Harley St., we call our ultrasound nose jobs the ‘Preservation Rhinoplasty’ due to the Piezo’s less invasive and high-performing technology. As the name suggests, this type of Piezo Rhinoplasty works to preserve the nose as much as possible and does not use the more invasive, mechanical tools that may be required during a classic Rhinoplasty. This precise technology makes the ultrasound technique the first choice for any nose tip surgery, as this can means more accuracy when creating optimal results.

With any Ultrasonic Piezo Rhinoplasty, any incisions made will be hidden inside the nose and Dr Yannis will work inside the nostrils. This means:

What is VASER liposuction?
