Dr Yannis Alexandrides Qualifications
Dr Alexandrides is a former Fellow of the Division of Plastic Surgery, University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre. Following training at Albert Einstein Medical Centre, he took residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital (the second largest hospital in the US and a non-profit institution) specialising in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery whilst at the University of Miami. He gained invaluable experience in craniofacial reconstructive surgery performing complicated operations on patients suffering severe injuries from car crashes, gunshots as well as those with congenital abnormalities. He then broadened his training in Microsurgery at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr Alexandrides has published numerous scientific papers in Plastic Surgery Journals and has given talks in USA and Asia, including lectures on laser resurfacing. In 1998, he won the First Award in paper presentations at the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons meeting in Orlando, Florida. Dr Alexandrides participates in international surgery missions abroad and helps underprivileged people correct cosmetic abnormalities.
Participating in surgical missions is a tremendous opportunity for me to use my surgical skills to help people who do not have the financial means or access to qualified doctors. I feel honoured and humbled to be able to utilise my surgical skills to help those affected by cleft lip and cleft palate problems, and those who are underprivileged.
Dr Yannis Alexandrides pioneered an extremely effective procedure called the Y-Lift. It is considered a ‘technically innovative’ facelift and is only available from 111 Harley St. In a single procedure using stitching reminiscent of the letter Y below the surface tissue, it works to rejuvenate the face, neck and improve the contouring of the jawline and also allows patients to benefit from the minimal recovery time.
He is also qualified to carry out corrective surgery procedures and specialises in performing multiple procedures during the same operation. His philosophy is to achieve the highest possible results in each individual case, putting the patient’s safety and quick recovery as his priority. By performing multiple procedures at the same time, the risk associated with undergoing general anaesthesia is minimised.
In 2012, Dr Yannis Alexandrides launched 111SKIN in Harrods. The first cream from the range was created five years ago to help patients heal after surgery. In addition to the dramatic healing results, the creams also have potent anti-ageing and protecting benefits.
“As a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, I deal with the most challenging problems of ageing and injury. I developed 111SKIN through the inside out view that only a surgeon can master. Our products were tested in the most demanding situations: after cosmetic surgery and laser treatment, on scars and burns. Our science laboratory used the most advanced ingredients to maximise results. I am proud to offer my unique insight to my patients who want to fight ageing”. – Dr Yannis Alexandrides
